Gene Affected LDLR: Low density lipoprotein receptor
Origin F344/NSlc rats having an induced mutation in the Ldlr gene were was established by gene-driven ENU mutagenesis.
Strain characteristics This strain possesses a missense mutation (C160S) inLdlr gene and shows higher levels of plasma total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol than the wild type rats.
