Origin
Platinum TALEN was designed to target the Pcdh19 gene sequence, and mRNA was microinjected into F344/Stm rats to generate this strain, which has a 25-base deletion in the Pcdh19 gene on the rat X chromosome.
Strain characteristics
These rats lack the Pcdh19 gene, which is the main cause of X-linked disorders that cause epilepsy and intellectual disability in females. Analysis of the rat is currently underway and has not yet been published.

Sibling mating.

Pcdh19A-Small_F : GTCTCGGAGGGGTGTGGA Pcdh19A-Small_R : AGCCTGTCGGGTATCCATC PCR. Short PCR products are obtained.
