Gene Affected Lysosomal trafficking regulator(Lyst)遺伝子変異
Origin Lyst gene mutation was identified in 1985 in DA rats maintained at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine since 1980. In 2000, it was provided to Japan SLC, Inc.
Strain characteristics Pale hair color, decreased NK cell activity, easy infection, spheroidal leukocytes with giant granules, and prolonged bleeding time. A model animal for Chediak-Higashi syndrome in humans.
Breeding Conditions Maintained by sibling mating between bg/bg homozygous rats.
Genotyping Genotyping is not performed because homozygous rats can breed with each other and can be determined by coat color.
