Origin This line was created at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo using the CRISPR-Cas9 method. F344/Jcl rat fertilized eggs were microinjected and transplanted into the oviducts of pseudopregnant females. From the resulting offspring, rats with the CAG promoter-loxP-EGFP-loxP-polyA-mCherry sequence inserted into the ROSA26 gene were selected and established.
Strain characteristics EGFP is expressed throughout the body, and when the EGFP sequence is removed in the presence of cre recombinase, mCherry is expressed.
Breeding Conditions Maintained by crossing heterozygous rats with wild type rats.
Genotyping The genotype is determined by PCR and electrophoresis.
