This strain was generated during the process of producing AQP4 humanized rats (LEW-Aqp4em2Mysi ) by the group of Dr. Tomoji Mashimo, Institute of Experimental Animal Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University in 2017.
As a result of genome editing of LEW/CrlCrlj rats using the CRISPR/Cas9 system, a 295 bp deletion was made from the middle of exon 1 to the intron (from part of the Ser52 codon to Thr149 and 3 bases in the intron).
The founder was backcrossed to LEW/CrlCrlj rats once, and then homozygous rats were obtained by crossing between heterozygotes. |
