Origin |
A hairless mutant rat was found in a colony of Wistar rats (Crj: Wistar), transferred to Japan SLC, Inc from Yagi Memorial Park, 1993. |
Strain characteristics |
Short pelage is sparsely distributed at weaning but, with growth, they exhibit almost complete hairlessness. Follicular cysts are seen in the dermis in 9 weeks of age. These phenotypes are due to autosomal dominant inheritance. |
