Origin |
Originated from analbuminemic rats found in the closed colony of SD (Jcl:SD). |
Strain characteristics |
Analbuminemia. Inherited as an autosomal recessive trait. Total serum protein in the mutant rat was similar to that of control Sprague-Dawley rats, with increased globulin. No expression of serum albumin is due to skipping of the exon H caused by a mutation in the intron HI. |
Breeding Conditions |
Sib mating. |
