Origin |
Kaken hairless rat were detected by Kimura from Gunn's rat at Kaken Pharmaceuticals in 1987. 2002 introduced to Kyoto University (F36). |
Strain characteristics |
Hairless. This strain has deletion mutation in Oca2, pink-eyed dilution (Kuramoto, 2005).
A 80-kb deletion was identified in the region containing five basic keratin (krt) genes (Kuramoto, 2010). (Jul 4, 2011) |
Breeding Conditions |
Heterozygous female and homozygous male are mated. |
Genotyping |
