Origin |
A mutant rat was found in the course of inbreeding between a male rat (called TSR Louis) maintained by American breeders of fancy rats (Spoiled Ratten Rattery: SRR) and a PVG female. This rat showed gait abnormality in F3 and the abnormality became prominent in F5. F8 rats showed circling-like abnormality. KFRS is an abbreviation of Kyoto Fancy Rat SRR. (Jul 7, 2009) |
Strain characteristics |
Circling. |
Breeding Conditions |
Maintained by crossing of circling rats. Mutant females are fertile, but have failure of breast feeding, therefore, bad reproducibility. (Jul 7, 2009) |
Genotyping |
Determined by phenotype. |
