Strain characteristics This rat shows inflammation and fibrosis in and around the pancreatic islets but does not develop diabetes. Transferred Chromosome 3 from SDT/Jcl contains QTL Dmsdt1, which associates with inflammation and fibrosis in and around the pancreatic islets of SDT/Jcl (Fuse, 2008). (May 31, 2010)
