Origin |
A male rat "SRR Tustin" was introduced from American fancy rat colony (Spoiled Ratten Rattery: SRR, in Kansas City, Missouri) to Kyoto University on July 13, 2005. Inbreeding started from F1 progeny of male "SRR Tustin" and a female TM/Kyo. (Sep 25, 2009)

Strain characteristics |
This strain carries Black eye, Be, and albino mutation, c in the homozygous state. The Be was considered that a single autosomal mutation and manifested dominantly only in the presence of the albino mutation in the homozygous state by breeding experiments (Kuramoto, 2010). (Aug 4, 2010) |
Breeding Conditions |
Maintained by crossing between homozygous rats for black eye. Good breeding performance. (Sep 25, 2009) |
