Gene Affected Attractin-EGFP recombinant gene
Origin The transgene consists of the bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clone RNB1-116, which contains the attractin (Atrn) gene which is modified by in-frame insertion of the EGFP reporter gene upstream of the 29th exon and an in-frame insersion of the mRFP reporter gene between 24th exon and stop codon. As of Jun 2010, 6 congenic strains are being developed (line 3, 20, 21, 22, 41 and 104). (Nov 25, 2010)
Strain characteristics Phenotype not completely analyzed yet. In this transgenic rat, it is expected that the membrane form of attractin is co-expressesed with EGFP (green fluorescent protein) as recombinant protein and the secreted form of attractin expresses mRFP1 (red fluorescent protein) recombinant protein. (Nov 25, 2010)
Breeding Conditions Maintained by crossing of Tg hemizygous and F344/NSlc. (Nov 25, 2010)
