Gene Affected Gluco13 (Glucose level QTL 13), alias Gisdt1
Origin The Gluco13 (Gisdt1) region of BN/Seac was transferred onto the genetic background of SDT/Jcl strain. Established by speed congenic method since 2003 and afterwards maintained by sib mating (N9F6, May 2010) Please refer to STD.BN-Gluco14/Nyo (NBRP No. 0602). (Jun 22, 2010)
Strain characteristics All males spontaneously develop diabetes. The onset of diabetes in this strain seems to be delayed comparing with that of SDT. (Jun 22, 2010)
Breeding Conditions Sib mating.
Genotyping The segment between the D1Wox11 marker (57cM) and D1Rat76 marker (148cM) is homozygous for BN/Seac and other chromosomal regions are homozygous for SDT/Jcl. (Jun 22, 2010)
