 Origin The <i>Cblb</i> region, one of the causative gene in type 1 diabetes of KDP/Tky was transferred onto the genetic background of PVG.R23 strain.
 
 Strain Characteristics Although type 1 diabates and insulitis are not observed in this strains, thyroiditis is often observed.
