Origin Inbred Dark Agouti (DA) rats were originally obtained from
the Zetralinstitut für Versuchstierzucht (Hanover,
Germany) and Piebald Virol Glaxo (PVG) from Harlan UK
Limited (Blackthorn, UK). Congenic strain was established by transfer of the defined Vra4 segment selected from male donors of G8 generation of a DAxPVG1.AV1 andvanced intercross line. Subsequential backcrossing
for 9 generations.
Strain Characteristics Lower expression of MHC class II on B cells, milder disease course due to EAE compared to DA.
 Breeding Conditions Good breeding performances.
Genotyping Flanking marker inside the congenic fragment: D10Got6 and D10Rat184.
