 Gene
Origin A hairless mutant rat was found in a colony of Wistar rats (Crj: Wistar), transferred to Japan SLC, Inc from Yagi Memorial Park, 1993.
Strain Characteristics Short pelage is sparsely distributed at weaning but, with growth, they exhibit almost complete hairlessness. Follicular cysts are seen in the dermis in 9 weeks of age. These phenotypes are due to autosomal dominant inheritance.
