 Gene
Origin Kaken hairless rat were detected by Kimura from Gunn's rat at Kaken Pharmaceuticals in 1987. 2002 introduced to Kyoto University (F36).
Strain Characteristics Hairless. This strain has deletion mutation in <i>Oca2</i>, pink-eyed dilution (Kuramoto, 2005).
A 80-kb deletion was identified in the region containing five basic keratin (<i>krt</i>) genes (Kuramoto, 2010). (Jul 4, 2011)
Breeding Conditions Heterozygous female and homozygous male are mated.
