Origin
Consomic SHR rats were established by crossing of SHR females and one wild rat male (KWR, Karlsburg Wild Rat) captured in northern part of Germany. Male hybrids were repeatedly backcrossed onto SHR females replacing the chromosome Y of SHR/Mol
by that of wild rats in 1996.
Strain Characteristics
Blood pressure is not changed in comparison with SHR/Mol rats measured by telemetry (180 ア 10 mmHg).
