DA rats are highly susceptible to 4NQO-induced tongue carcinoma, whereas WF rats are barely susceptible (Kitano, 1992). To establish this congenic strain, QTL region <i>Tscc4</i> (Tongue squamous cell carcinoma 4, alias <i>Tcas3</i> RGD: 631261) were introgressed from WF rat to DA rat background (Tanuma, 1998; Tanuma, 2001).
