  Control Strains   Reporter gene Strains
Gene Nes (nestin), Hspa1b (heat shock 70kD protein 1B), GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein, jellyfish)
Origin This transgenic strain was established at Slc in 1999 and transferred to Keio University in 2000.
Strain Characteristics This strain expresses green fluorescent protein (GFP) neural-specific driven by Nestin enhancer and Hspa1b promoter.
Breeding Conditions Maintained in hemizygous condition. Usually, maintained by crossing of male transgenic rats and female wild-type rats.
Genotyping Transgenic rats were identified by Southern blot analysis or by PCR using tail DNA and primers specific for the GFP sequence.
