DA rats are highly susceptible to 4NQO-induced tongue carcinoma, whereas WF rats are barely susceptible (Kitano, 1992). To establish this congenic strain, QTL region
(Tongue squamous cell carcinoma 1, alias
RGD: 724565) was introgressed from DA rats to WF rats (Tanuma, 1998; Tanuma, 2001). (Aug 20, 2010)
The numbers and sizes of 4NQO-induced tongue cancer in this congenic rat showed l significantly higher than those in WF rats (Hirano, 2006). In search of the candidate genes for
, one SNP was found in the promoter region of the putative candidate gene
(NAD(P)H dehydrogenase, quinone 1, NCBI ID: 24314) (Hirano, 2006). The expression level of
